Now more than ever, with climate change and sustainability at the forefront, the VSGP want to encourage more schools to increase their greenspace and take learning outdoors.
School gardens are places where children can learn about productive gardening, biodiversity and sustainability. They provide the perfect environment in which to engage the young and old alike – bringing students, teachers, parents and local communities together in a shared experience of ‘hands on’ learning.
Students have an opportunity to explore fresh ideas in the face of climate change and get involved in the development of their schools’ green spaces.
Listen to VSGP advocate Costa Georgiadis explain the importance and many benefits of outdoor learning for schools.
