About the Awards
The VSGP Awards recognise and celebrate the gardening achievements of students and their school communities in existing and newly established gardens.
Now in their 48th year, the Awards have a long and proud history of bringing gardening skills and the joy of learning to school- aged children.
You don’t necessarily need to have a big or beautiful school garden to enter. The Awards are all about recognising schools that use their outdoor spaces to promote the engagement of students in practical activities which foster learning, well-being and community pride.
The Awards are open to all Victorian Government, Catholic and Independent schools.
There are a variety of Award categories to enter, with nursery vouchers and garden product prizes to win.
The Award categories are announced early in the year to enable schools to record the progression of their garden/s throughout the year for their Award entry in their chosen categories.
Award entries are submitted via an online application form from this website.
2025 Awards Program Dates
- Award categories will be announced on Monday 2 March
- Entries open on Monday 2 June
- Entries originally were to close on Thursday 25 September, but have now been extended until Friday 10 October at 5pm.
